I arrived at John and Natalie’s wedding venue with very little signal and no real idea of where I was actually going. But the minute I arrived on the dusty tracks leading to Drakensbergkloof, I knew I was in for a beautiful day.
What I found when I finally hopped out of my mom’s car (thanks mom!), was a quaint farm house, a beautiful reception hall carved around an ancient rock and the most magnificent cave/overhang I have ever had the privilege of photographing in.
John and Natalie are down-to-earth people with an absolute love for God, each other and their family. They’re both the babies in their families, (I photographed John’s brother’s wedding back when I first started out in photography!) and share a deep love for music. To include this passion on their day, they incorporated a stage in their reception where invited musicians (and some of their close friends) performed. What resulted was a perfect wedding day, symbolising everything that is these two.
Thank you John and Natalie for choosing me to travel to Newcastle and photograph your day. It was so much fun and I wish you both loads of adventure and love in the years to come. x
