I’m sure you have loads of questions if you’re just starting out on your wedding planning journey. These Q&A’s should answer most of them when it comes to booking your photography for your wedding day, but if you have an additional question, please pop me a mail.
Do you travel?
Absolutely! Pop me a mail and we can discuss your requirements. You may find hiring a photographer to travel with you on a destination wedding may be more affordable than you think!
What camera equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Nikon D750 and high quality Nikkor lenses and speedlights and professional Lexar SD cards.
Do you have an assistant?
I do, her name is Nats and she’s my sister. She’s incredible with a camera and when she’s not running around, holding veils and bouquets, or carrying my gear, she’s photographing candid moments of guests.
How do we know how many hours we need?
Once I’ve emailed you my packages, we can discuss all of this telephonically. But an average wedding needs at least 8 hours for me to be able to capture your wedding day from getting ready to later on the dance floor.
I only need four hours. Can you help?
Yes, I can! Let me know what you have planned for your day and I can create a customised package to suit your budget.
How long will you need to photograph us after the ceremony?
I don’t want to keep your guests waiting either, so I normally shoot around 45 minutes.
Have you shot at our venue?
Maybe I have, but I haven’t… yet. This is not to say that I won’t do a good job on your day. I always arrive early on a wedding day to scout the location and I do research on the venue before your day. Arriving at a new venue also keeps my creativity up as I explore and think of best ways to use the venue in your photos.
How long will you take to edit our photos?
After the wedding, I’ll post a sneak peek blog post on my website and Facebook page for you and your family to see. Depending on how busy the wedding season, the rest of your photos could take between 6 – 9 weeks. But I’ve also worked on photographs far quicker for brides who were travelling back home internationally. Your photographs are couriered to you and available on USB. They’re also uploaded to your own private gallery which you can share with friends and family.
How many photos will we receive?
I don’t limit the amount of photos I give, but you should receive between 600 – 800, depending on your wedding. That’s a lot, I know, but I tell a complete story with lots of moments, so I make sure I give you all the best images.
Do you offer videography too?
This would be impossible to do with me photographing. 🙂 But I do know a few incredibly talented videographers in Durban who I would be happy to put you in contact with.
Do you do engagement shoots?
Yes, I love these! Let me know what you have in mind.
Do you supply albums?
I do! My albums are of exceptional quality and can be added on to any of my packages. I have parent albums too for moms.
I’m super awkward in front of a camera. What are we going to do?
You’re going to have so much fun on your shoot, I promise. I offer gentle guidance and natural posing so forget about what to do with your arms, or how to stand. It won’t be nearly as bad as you think!
Why is wedding photography so expensive?
There is no price to your memories and hiring a quality photographer means investing in your memories. I love that in 100 years, someone can hold one of my photographs and be able to cherish it. Photography is simple put, an investment.
We want to book you! How do we do that?
Pop me an email or get in touch via my contact form and enquire about my availability. Once we select the best package for you, I will send you a contract to sign and instructions on how to pay the retainer. I can’t wait to work with you!
